Figured it out!!
Today went pretty good at work-alot better than I had thought it would! I hope my cold goes away so I can have my normal voice back and my throat will stop hurting.
Anywho just thought I would let my two readers =) know that it has worked out? I hope =) oh and for Alyssa... I agree-David and Papa wouldn't do real good together for very long ;-) that's why it wasn't even an option for David to go with us if I had taken them to CA. =)
Hope you all have a wonderful week full of God's blessings and grace!

The End of August
On another note because it is the end of August I feel obligated to let people know that David and I will be taking a two month break from "trying" because that would land delivery in June/July of next year and those aren't the best months for us to be having a baby. So for September and October there will be a break.
I am excited about going back to work. I'm not sure why I love substituting so much but I love being around the kids and the different teachers. I have made so many friends in the community through all of this and it makes me feel good to know that I know people outside of church and that I'm not so totally consumed with church stuff that I have lost focus of the community. There are alot of great people out there, you just have to reach out and say Hi once in a while.
Here's a story for you... David and I needed the schedules for the upcoming sports season and our passes for all the games (which saves us a ton of money BTW) and so we headed to the high school! As we walk we are immediately recognized and one of the secretaries looks at David and says... "They are on the wall" =) She knew exactly what we were there for and as we left she also told us that she would see us around at all the games. I guess this makes me thankful that my husband isn't the type to just sit around waiting for teens to walk in the door. He wants to go to all the games, not only to show support for our teens but it allows us to talk to other people and as they get to know us they start thinking about coming to church!
Oh yeah! the end of August also means that fall is coming and that means that the holidays are almost here and I am extra excited about the holidays this year!!! I'm not yet ready for summer to be over with but I am ready for the holidays =)

August...
I am extremely excited about going to Denver! We have been saving up for it-oh my word have we been doing good! David and I have cut back on how much we do-we have spent hardly any money this week and both of us have lost some weight because we haven't been going out to restaurants or to the store (you know how when you go to Wal-mart you find something that you shouldn't have but you really want it cause it looks good!?!?!) Anywho... =) We get to be up there almost a week and since we have been saving I get to do a little shopping (not a lot mind you-cause we still have to drive home =} ) but I get to be around family and to be in Denver. We are hoping or at least I am to do some sight seeing along the way but that will depend on wither we leave Sunday or Monday. And..I am hoping that on the way home we get to have lunch with my parents and brother and sister!!! Well I had better get off-this is turning into a book. I haven't really blogger for a while so I have lots of thoughts stored up =) BYE!!!

Tomorrow Part 2
Tomorrow it will be two years since Keagen and my Grandma passed. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I don't know that it really hit me that my grandma had passed until last year. I was still running on shock and grief when we burried Keagen on Thursday (the 26th) and had to drive to Kansas that day to bury my grandma the next day (the 27th)! So I really didn't get to deal with my feelings over losing Grandma. I wasn't really close to her but I know that it was difficult for my family. Whenever I think about Keagen and Grandma I can't help but think about the day they both passed. We had just found a church that was willing to help us out with a place so that we could stop paying for motel rooms (for six people) and we had just gotten settled in (as much as you can) and we were getting ready to head back to the hospital becasue some of the church people had come to visit and we wanted to see Keagen again before we went to evening church service. Right as we were getting ready to load up my Dad gets a call...Grandma (his mom) had just passed. I had tried to make my Dad stay with Pops and Grandma when Keagen was born and everything started to happen but Pops sent him to me. We all knew Grandma's time was limited but it didn't make my descion later that evening any easier. There are times I still feel guilty over my Dad having to lose his mom and his first grandson on the same day but once again God is powerful and has helped my Dad heal in an amazing way.
God is Good All the Time. It is our choice of wither we accept that goodness or not.

Tomorrow...
My husband is still hurting...........He is my number one priority (besides God) and I know people don't always understand the way we do things but they can cut him a little slack can't they?!?! He has so much on his shoulders. I love him so much.
Thank God for my husband and my beautiful baby boy. Happy Birthday Keagen!!! Your mommy loves you and always will.

Update for July
Camp went really good! I had four girls saved and one of them surrendered to Full Time Christian Service. There is alot of work yet to be done in teaching them how to love the Lord and what it means to know Him and serve Him but I am excited for the future.
Yes it is July and yes David and I are going to start trying. I fear there are still alot of health problems standing in the way of conception but I also know that the Lord will work them out in due time. For now I am happy that I have my husband and my family.

Thorns
Sandra felt as low as the heels of her shoes when she pulled open the florist shop door, against a November gust of wind. Her life had been as sweet as a spring breeze and then, in the fourth month of her second pregnancy, a "minor" automobile accident stole her joy. This was Thanksgiving week and the time she should have delivered their infant son. She grieved over their loss. Troubles had multiplied. Her husband's company "threatened" to transfer his job to a new location. Her sister had called to say that she could not come for her long awaited holiday visit. What's worse, Sandra's friend suggested that Sandra's grief was a God-given path to maturity that would allow her to empathize with others who suffer. "She has no idea what I'm feeling," thought Sandra with a shudder "Thanksgiving? Thankful for what?" she wondered.. "For a careless driver whose truck was hardly scratched when he rear-ended me? For an airbag that saved my life, but took my child's?" "Good afternoon, can I help you?" Sandra was startled by the approach of the shop clerk. "I . . . I need an arrangement," stammered Sandra. "For Thanksgiving? I'm convinced that flowers tell stories, " she continued.. "Are you looking for something that conveys 'gratitude' this Thanksgiving?" "Not exactly!" Sandra blurted out. "In the last five months, everything that could go wrong has gone wrong." Sandra regretted her outburst, and was surprised when the clerk said, "I have the perfect arrangement for you." Then the bell on the door rang, and the clerk greeted the new customer..... "Hi, Barbara, let me get your order." She excused herself and walked back to a small workroom, then quickly reappeared, carrying an arrangement of greenery, bows, and what appeared to be long-stemmed thorny roses. Except the ends of the rose stems were neatly s nipped: there were no flowers. "Do you want these in a box?" asked the clerk. Sandra watched - was this a joke? Who would want rose stems with no flowers! She waited for laughter, but neither woman laughed. "Yes, please," Barbara replied with an appreciative smile. "You'd think after three years of getting the special, I wouldn't be so moved by its significance, but I can feel it right here, all over again," she said, as she gently tapped her chest. Sandra stammered, "Ah, that lady just left with .. . . uh . . . she left with no flowers!""That's right," said the clerk. "I cut off the flowers. That's the 'Special'. I call it the Thanksgiving Thorns Bouquet. Barbara came into the shop three years ago, feeling much as you do today," explained the clerk. "She thought she had very little to be thankful for. She had just lost her father; the family business was failing; her son had gotten into drugs; and she was facing major surgery. That same year I had lost my husband," continued the clerk. "For the first time in my life, I had to spend the holidays alone. I had no children, no husband, no family nearby, and too much debt to allow any travel." "So what did you do?" asked Sandra. "I learned to be thankful for thorns," answered the clerk quietly. "I've always thanked God for the good things in my life and I never questioned Him why those good things happened to me, but when the bad stuff hit, I cried out, 'Why? Why me?!' It took time for me to learn that the dark times are important to our faith! I have always enjoyed the 'flowers' of my life, but it took the thorns to show me the beauty of God's comfort! You know, the Bible says that God comforts us when we're afflicted, and from His consolation we learn to comfort others." Sandra sucked in her breath, as she thought about what her friend had tried to tell her. "I guess the truth is I don't want comfort. I've lost a baby and I'm angry with God." Just then someone else walked in the shop. "Hey, Phil!" the clerk greeted the balding, rotund man. "My wife sent me in to get our usual Thanksgiving arrangement . .. twelve thorny, long-stemmed stems!" laughed Phil as the clerk handed him a tissue wrapped arrangement from the refrigerator. "Those are for your wife?" asked Sandra incredulously. "Do you mind telling me why she wants a bouquet that looks like that?" "Four years ago, my wife and I nearly divorced," Phil replied. "After forty years, we were in a real mess, but with the Lord's grace and guidance, we trudged through problem after problem, the Lord rescued our marriage. Jenny here (the clerk) told me she kept a vase of rose stems to remind her of what she had learned from "thorny" times. That was good enough for me. I took home some of those stems. My wife and I decided to label each one for a specific "problem" and give thanks for what that problem taught us." As Phil paid the clerk, he said to Sandra, "I highly recommend the Special!""I don't know if I can be thankful for the thorns in my life" Sandra said to the clerk. "It's all too . . fresh." "Well," the clerk replied carefully, "my experience has shown me that the thorns make the roses more precious. We treasure God's providential care more during trouble than at any other time. Remember that it was a crown of thorns that Jesus wore so we might know His love....Don't resent the thorns." Tears rolled down Sandra's cheeks. For the first time since the accident, she loosened her grip on her resentment. "I'll take those twelve long-stemmed thorns, please," she managed to choke out. "I hoped you would," said the clerk gently. "I'll have them ready in a minute." "Thank you. What do I owe you?" "Nothing. Nothing but a promise to allow God to heal your heart...The first year's arrangement is always on me." The clerk smiled and handed a card to Sandra. "I'll attach this card to your arrangement, but maybe you would like to read it first."
It read: "My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant." Praise Him for the roses; thank Him for the thorns. God Bless all of you. Be thankful for all that the Lord does for you. "Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.." We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and Duct tape. God did it with nails.

One Deceased Person
Like her I have several.
One deceased person
Prompt: If you could bring any deceased person back to life for one day, whom would you choose? What would you do or say to them?
1.) My Son-Keagen Ty Phillips
I would hold him so much! Like Alyssa I would take tons of pictures and some really awesome family pictures. I would take him to church to show him off and let his three favorite aunts (A.B, M.P, & E.D.)hold him. I would tell him over and over how much his mommy loves him and will always miss him.
2.) My Uncle-Mike Klassen
I miss him at times and I know that he was only human but I would like for him to meet my husband and be able to pick his brain of all his biblical knowledge. I would want him to spend the day with his kids and wife too.
3.) Granny-My Great-Grandmother
I miss being with her-I wish I could have spent more time with her.

My Bubba
I'm not exactly sure how to start this and excuse me if I get all mushy. I "borrowed" this picture from my s-i-l (who is a great photographer by the way!). This is a picture of my brother's hands. I would like to do a challenge in June for "Men in My Life" so this might get repeated.
My Brother...A man who has been through life and keeps on going. When we were growing up he made sure I that I could defend myself, that I could shoot a gun, and that I knew how to do things the right way. My brother has never had it easy but he has learned from it. Growing up I can tell you story after story of him standing up for me or making me "tougher". :) We have the GREATEST stories of fun times and I wouldn't trade my brother for anyone in the world. He didn't always like me but I always knew that he loved me. This picture makes me want to cry just thinking of the man that my brother has become. I am proud of who he is!! Besides God and my husband, my brother is tied with my dad for third place as being the greatest man in my life. Here's to my "Bubba" !

Women #7-Esther Joy Travis
It is with tears and yet joy that I write my last post on the March Challenge-celebrating women who have touched our lives. This young lady isn't a women and yet she is a testimony of what we as women should be like. This is Esther Joy Travis. By looking at her you couldn't tell that she has been fighting the last two years with cancer. A rare form of cancer that only 20% of children survive. Her page on Caring Bridge tells of her life-an entergetic 6 year old who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer and instead of letting it get her down she has continued to fight and to tell everyone she comes in contact with about her Saviour, Jesus Christ. At the end of last year they thought that they had kicked the cancer but it has returned and within the last couple of days her kidneys have shut down and she has been given anywhere from hours to a week left. She has continued to fight and yet she has told her parents that she is ready to go home to be with Jesus. We should all be a testimony of God's grace and mercy. If I have learned anything from this young lady it is that no matter what happens God is in control and it is worth living my life for Him whatever happens. Here's to Esther Joy. When the day comes, may you finally have the perfect, pain-free body with Jesus that you so deserve. We love you and will miss you greatly!!!Women #6-Katherine Pierson

Women #5- My Girls
I know this isn't a very good picture but this is some of my inspiration. I love my teen girls. These girls inspire me to be the lady that I am suppose to be-to set an example. My life has been in such a turmoil over the last few years. It is these girls that inspire me to stay sane, to keep going, to conitue to draw closer to God. These are "My Girls".Friday, March 13, 2009
Women #3 & #4- Melissa and Sherry

Melissa Phillips

Sherry Morales
When I first thought about doing this challenge I thought of four women and these ladies are two of them. I think this falls under (and I changed it a little) "Who you wish you could spend more time with or talk to more" and "Who made you want to be a mom." Both of these ladies are wonderful!
Melissa-My sister-in-law =) When I first met her she didn't like me because she thought I wasn't right for her brother-in-law. I won her over by taking her children to the other side of the room and playing with them =) So #1-she is protective of her family and friends and once you are a part of that group very little can take you out. She is Loyal to the end! Also, the first time I got to go to their house I got to watch her in action with her kids. The boys adore their mom and respect her tremendously. I love how she is able to be mom to three boys and not lose herself in a house full of "Men" =)
Sherry-a good friend. The first time I met Sherry we were both pregnant, due around the same time. I had traveled with her sister Esther (our pastor's wife) and another friend to got to a Ladies Conference in CA while staying at Sherry's. We get there and she was so excited to see us not just Esther (who she was extremely excited to see) but all of us even though she didn't know us. She went out of her way to make Brandy and I feel at home and even though she was just as pregnant as I was she babied me the whole time! She is the most creative woman I have ever met! Her love for others is something that is seen every day.
The reason I picked these ladies is because: 1. Their families are number one in their lives. 2. They are loyal to family and friends alike and to the end. 3. Thier kids love them and aren't "ashamed" or "embarrassed" to be seen with them and love to hang out with their mom. The biggest reason? They are REAL. There is nothing fake about them. They will not put up a face for anyone but neither do they have an "I don't care" attitude. You can talk to either one of these ladies at anytime and they will be honest with you and do anything they can to help. They are REAL!! I would love to spend more time with both of them and they are the kind of moms that I want to be.

Woman #2- Marmie
Okay so I talked about my number one woman =) my mom. Well here is where we both learned it from-Marmie. I love this picture cause it is a three generation picture on my wedding day. Marmie is the greatest. How do I explain her?!?! This falls under the "Who touched your life in a major way" and "Who taught you a skill that you use often." Marmie (her name is off of "Little Women" by the way) does everything! She cooks, cleans, sews, and works like a mad woman on the farm-she is: a jack of all trades. Marmie has taught me how to be a lady. She is one of the greatest hotess you will ever find. We could be sitting down for dinner and a vistor will drive in and within minutes they are sitting down with a plate full of food, eating, and not even realize it! The Skill?? Cooking-I have learned so much from standing next to her watching while she cooks for (honestly) who knows how many!! She taught me how to sew. You can take any piece of clothing to her and she can fix it, put it together and she makes the most beautiful dresses! Her house is always clean (even with the country dirt always blowing). My best memories of Marm are: riding in the Tractor and Combine with her(She always had the cleanest windows because of me) =), "doing" her hair (which included a comb, water bottle, and tons of bobbie pins) she never compained but she was always soaked by the time I was done, and her taking care of me when both of my parents had to work and I was sick. She has always been there-especially when I can't get a hold of my number one woman-my mom. So here's to Marmie!! The best Grandma in the World!

Our Teens & Track Meets
For a while now people have been asking David to either become a coach for city league basketball or a ref. (which he refuses to do because he doesn't like to be the one on the receiving end of angry parents) =) I don't blame him!!! BUT...track season has started up and this is his cup of tea!! He used to be one of the best in Colorado in track and cross country. Last year we got to go to two track meets because of course the rest are far away. So far this year David and I have tried to be on the treadmill alot more. This makes him miss being in track! Yesterday David got on the treadmill before he came to pick me up from work and when he got there he told me that he was interested in working with the track team. I was excited to say the least!! So for the last two days we have been at track practice =) He has also started taking steps to become an official volunteer track coach (talking to the head of athletics, filling out forms, making a resume, and tomorrow he takes a class for certification). I am proud of him, I know this might be wishful thinking but I'm hoping that next year they will take him on full time as a track coach. It would be something that he loves, gets us more into the community, and he would be able to make a little extra money. It is nice to be able to go around town and have people recognize you and say Hi. Our teens love us-this is the original reason why he wanted to help with track-to help one of our teens get to state as a long distance runner. It's fun to be "Mom" at the track =) It is just one more way to prove our love for our teens-to prove that we are there for them! So starting this Saturday until the middle of May we will be going with the team for meets!! I am so excited!!

Tag: I'm it
I have been tagged in photos. I was suppose to go to the sixth file and get the sixth photo-so here it is.
This is a page that a friend made for David and I. Keagen is in the middle of it. Short story is: Someone in Denver heard our story and decided to take some of the hospital pictures we had of Keagen and turn it into something special for us. Then a friend from my husbands old church took that picture and made this for us.
The friends I would tag have already been tagged ={ so I hope you enjoy the picture. =)

Waiting on God
Today I stopped the b.c. (on time mind you) but the reason I won't continue is because last month I didn't bleed at all and it kind of freaked me out. I want to get my body back on schedule and I am trying to lose weight and I think that going off b.c. and getting rid of the extra hormone will help get rid of my excess weight. I have gotten so frustrated because I can't seem to lose the weight-I wasn't able to breastfeed my son and ended up having to wrap up after he passed, and then I got "pregnant" again five months later and started gaining immediately! When I miscarried and had to go on chemo I was told to limit activity and I was always tired so I didn't feel like it anyway. Then I went on b.c. and still haven't had a lot of success losing the weight. But even more than that I know that I have at least four months left before we are able to start trying to get pregnant again. This brings alot of emotions in and of it's self. When reading my friend's blog I want to get excited. I want that excitement and happiness again-I want to look forward to all those feelings of being pregnant again but at the same time I am so scared. I can almost talk my self into never having children again. I don't know that I could handle another loss and yet I know that God won't give me more than I can handle. My husband is my other concern-I'm not sure when he will be ready. I have technically been released from both of my doctors (ob-gyn and cancer) but when I got done with chemo June of last year the cancer doctor told me that she advised that we wait at least one year she preferred two! This last December I was cleared but David and I both have peace that we are to wait till at least June-after that I have no clue... When I told my mom that I was going off b.c. she asked if she was going to be a grandma again real soon and I had to assure her that we ARE going to wait. I know that I have friends and family that are excited and awaiting for us to tell the world that we are expecting again but it doesn't stop me from worrying. David says that he would rather have me and no children than to have children and no me. I wonder when are we have going to stop being scared. When is it going to be the right time? I know, I know-God is always there and I can honestly say that my faith is stronger now than it has ever been but I can't help but wonder-when is it going to be our turn to have a dream come true...

Just felt like talking
I have gotten to spend the last couple of days at home. I finally got caught up on the house work-except for the boxes of books that my mom gave David! And now I am getting restless. I want to paint but I don't want to get started in on a project that could get interrupted several times before it got finished! And I know that I need to get our guest room cleaned back up but I just don't have the energy.
David gets his stiches out on Friday and I am glad!! We haven't heard anything from the doctors yet but that is okay. From the looks of the lumps I would say they are benine and eveything is okay, it is just nice to have them checked out every few years for peace of mind.
Well I'd better get off and try to get something done-I think I might do some more scrapbooking. Now I understand why my friends-Candice and Sherry get into it so much-it's FUN! =) Anywho hope you all enjoy reading my blabbering-I just felt like blogging. Have a good day and enjoy life =)
