It's Called Hormones and Drama
Today was fun! I had to sub a half day today and of course I had duty! So the fourth graders are alot calmer when it comes to being in the cafeteria than the 2nd and 3rd graders but wait till they get outside! =) I was standing under the tree and I saw two sets of girls seperated out all because two girls had issues but you know how that works. Two girls decide that they are going to be mad at each other and then they end up dragging a couple of friends into it. Then you have the boys-and they think it's funny to get in the middle and tell each group what the other group is saying all because they want to see a cat fight! =) Then on the other side of the playground-you have two girls who keep going through friends to talk when they should be talking to each other to get it out in the open. Like I said-it's called hormones and drama! =) I can't believe that we all used to be like that! God knows what we need and the kind of friends we need as we grow up. It is all part of his masterful plan-it's just kind of funny how things work.

One Big Blessing =)
I have been reading other friend's blog and some of them are trying to write one thing a day that they are thankful for. Also, our Thanksgiving Service is coming up on Wednesday and I have been trying to think of things to be thankful for. Last year I wasn't able to stand up and say something because I think that I was still kind of mad at God for taking my son. In my mind all I could think is "What do I have to be thankful for? I just lost my son and I don't care about anything else right now." This year hasn't been a walk in the park but that's not an excuse-there are still pleanty of things to be thankful for. So this year my biggest blessing is my husband. He has always been there for me. Today he told me that even from the time we were dating I have always been his best friend. A couple of months ago David was trying to get life insurance on him and I fought it hard-I can't imagine my life without him! I fought him over and over on it, telling him that he didn't need to get it right now and that we would worry about it later. He kept saying that if something happened to him-he wanted me to be taken care of. With everything that had happened with Keagen, my mind can't wrap around the thought of losing another person in my life but the more I thought about it I knew in my heart it was the best thing for him to get the insurance. The last couple of days have been really nice, we have had some wonderful times together in the two and a half years we have been married. Today I got to help him clean the church and I am thankful for what he does! Because of subbing at the schools I haven't been able to help him at the church lately and I forgot how much there is to do! It is amazing how we has humans get extremely lazy! My wonderful husband works so hard and hardly ever complains about it! He normally goes to work when I do (7:30-8:00) comes to eat lunch with me and then he goes back to work usually until I get off (2:40-3:10). I think my husband is the best Youth/Assosiate Pastor there is! He does everything under the sun from visiting and driving the bus to pick up kids to cleaning the church and printing the bulletin (which looks very professional and he made it himself I might add) =) So my Blessing this year and the thing I am most thankful for is my husband and our marriage/friendship =)
Ps. This has been re-edited-I feel like I might have been a little too bold in some of my statements...sorry

The Things God Does for Us =)
I keep meaning to write about this and I keep forgetting! There are three different stories but they all have meaning to me-hope you enjoy!
I have been wanting a china cabinet forever!!! About two weeks ago David and I were out visiting for Round-Up Sunday and we went to one house and they were so pleased to see us and have us visiting them. Now I had been there before but I had never seen the whole house, so she gave me a tour. As we were walking through, I notice a "dresser" in the guest bedroom and told her that I thought it looked neat. She told me "oh it's not a dresser! It's the bottom half of a china cabinet that I was thinking about selling in the yard sale tomorrow." I was so surprised! I asked if I could see the top part of it and she took me out into the garage... I asked her how much she was going to sell it for and she said $100! I thought that was a good deal since my S-I-L had paid that much for her's. Then this lady told me that if I wanted it she would sell it to me for $75! I went out and told David and he said that I could get it!! I was soo excited! BUT...when I talked to her that Sunday about when we would be able to get it-she said that she talked to her husband and they sold it to us for $50! Can you believe it?!? I finally got my china cabinet!!
Wait there's more!! =) I have been working so that we would have a little extra money and be able to get things for the house. We have wanted a good futon for a while so that when we had family over that would be an extra bed that could double as a couch. They are VERY expensive-especially one with a GOOD mattress! A Friend from the church called a month or so ago and told us about a woman that had to leave town in a hurry and was trying to get rid of everthing-so we went over just to look and to see if she needed any help and it ended up that she had a futon!! A Good One! We got it for a really good price! but more importantly we were able to help her out and David was able to pack her vehicle for her to get more things in there!
Oh wait there's more! =) I have been wanting really big pillows to go on the futon to make it a little more homey and had talked to another lady in the church about making them myself-but yesterday when we were out, we stopped off at Alco and I found the exact pillows that I wanted!! I thought they were a really good price (for that size of pillow) and I talked my husband into getting them! =) But as we were walking around the store a little more I got to thinking that maybe we were spending too much money and that it could wait-but my wonderful husband (who rarely ever tells me no) told me it was okay and that we would make it work so we headed up to the counter and guess what?!?! They were half off!!!! I was so excited! God always takes care of us! Even when it's things that we WANT but don't necessarily NEED. I love how God works and for a husband that loves to take care of me!!

Ramblings and Thoughts
I am in the mood to type and get my thoughts out. David and I's niece Abigail has been in the hospital the last few days with a type of infection. David has been checking with Rebecca at least every three to six hours trying to help Becca out and make sure she knows what is going on. I honestly hope everything turns out okay for Abby, Becca and Luke but it scares me to death to hear David talking about all this and it kind of makes me sad. My husband shouldn't know all the things that he knows about tests and hospitals!
It is times like these when I hear about other people and their babies going through things that I am reminded that I'm not quite ready for us to have another one -there are some fears that I need to get over first. Yet... there are also days like today when I get to hold one of the cutest and healthiest baby's you have ever seen and I see how happy he is and how happy and fun that family is and it makes me want to have a family of my own!
The holidays are coming up-and I wish that David and I could start traditions of our own-I know that we don't have any living children but we are still a family even if it is just the two of us! Today we carved out pumkins and we will take one out to Keagen and a mask that a little boy made him (One of the boys in one of my classes cameup to me and asked if I had kids, I said one, he asked if it was a boy or girl and I said boy, he then asked me to give a homemade mask to him) =)
I am still ever thankful that God spared him the pain, but it is during the holidays that things are just a little harder to handle. I would like to do something every year to remember him by but I can't seem to think of anything that means something to both of us. There is another little boy who is in Kindergarden and his name is Keegen-I thought about giving him something every year but how do you explain something like that. I don't want to sound like I am drowning in grief; I just want to celebrate his life in a way that will benefit someone else in the process. I have also thought about doing something with the specail needs children at the elementary school but not sure what.
Thanks for listening to my rambling I felt like I just needed to get that out. God is always good to us and has blessed us with many things and in many ways. God is good.
