Just Around the Corner

I have decided to rename my blog for a while. Just Around the Corner reminds me of two things...1. You never know what is just around the corner in your life but God does. 2. I love it when my little girl peeks around the corner at me and then grins really big!
I love how things have been going recently in our life! For the longest time David was so stressed and was beginning to despise going to work and to be honest we were getting burnt out on being in the ministry, sad I know but true. But now!....David is the happiest with his job that I have ever seen! For instance-Our Church Valentine's Dinner...Amazing! David and I actually got to sit down before the meal! We actually got to enjoy the meal with everyone! and there was NO stress! All the jobs were delegated, everyone knew what they were doing and they did it to please God not others. Our Pastor-my husband's "boss" -is a great Pastor. He doesn't get offended! A former member told him to his face that he didn't like him and Preacher was okay with it! He would rather know the truth and be able to move on than there be bad blood. He also has so much wisdom. I promise you can ask him anything and he can give you a scripture to go with his answer without having to look it up first. The people of our church are involved and on board with everything too. The spirit as a whole is great!! It is amazing to me how things were getting so rough to the point that we were almost ready to quit and yet.. Just Around the Corner was our life as it is now! God knew everything that was happening, that was going to happen, and that is going on now. We may not see what is ahead but God knows what is: Just Around the Corner.

Reflecting on the Last Year-Amazing Grace

This last year has been a different one. So many things have happened and as always we have grown through it all. God has been good to us. So many times we wanted to, and even did doubt and worry but God has seen us through. The first of the year started out pretty much normal, we were busy awaiting the birth of our baby. In February my parents got to come down and spend time with us, including going to our church Valentine's Dinner. In March Jerrad, Alyssa, and Aspen got to come for my baby shower. In April-David's parents came and spent time with us. May came and so did many life changing events...Our beautiful baby girl Kaitlin Ann was born on May 12th. We have been waiting so long for a baby of our own that we could take home and love and believe me it has been worth it! The day our daughter was born we found out that the Pastor of our church was resigning. So as we got to bring our baby home and get to know her, my wonderful hubby was busy leading the church, through pain, and in finding a new Pastor. Sometimes we felt like we would fail but God kept giving us the strength. In June we got to take our teens to youth camp. Looking back I was probably an idiot for taking my six week old baby to camp but our families got to see her, some meeting her for the first time. It was good. In August the Lord brought our church a new Pastor who has been in the ministry for many years(don't know the exact amount..) He is very knowledgable and has been doing an amazing job with our church. Even though we have lost a few families (which is to be expected) our church is growing, more spiritually than in numbers but I feel we are stronger now than ever. Our baby girl is growing like a weed :) She is full of energy and since she is now crawling she is also into everything :) She has her daddy wrapped around her pinkie and can get him to do anything especially when she says Dada or her new one.. Dadaddy :) She is the princess of our church and will "talk" to and entertain anyone in our community. She has had so many developments lately, it is amazing to see her grow! She has started crawling, "inch worming", she climbed the stairs up to the platform at the church this last week and is also starting to eat regular food. She can pull herself up next to anything and is starting to cruise around the furniture. Her daddy has been working with her on walking and also with standing using only one hand to support herself. My baby will be 8months on the 12th and I am so grateful for the time God has given us with her.
I feel like this blog might be a little choppy but I have been reflecting on the last year and God's amazing grace. I am excited to see what the new year holds and watching my child and our church grow. So even though this is late... Happy New Year!!
