A good day!

Yesterday was just a good day overall!! We had eleven kids on the bus! We got to go out to eat with Al & Cora, Pastor, Esther and kids, and P.J. Tabitha, and Julius for lunch-we were celebrating Abby and Julius' birthdays. It was fun to get to sit there and talk with others our own age. Then I felt well enough to sweep and mop the kitchen floor and get the house picked up a little bit so I felt good about that! =) While we were headed to church I had been thinking that I should let Tabitha know that if she ever wanted to come over after church when P.J. is working she could and it just so happened that she had asked Esther if she could go over to their house and so I am ashamed to say that for the first time in the years that we have been here that I finally invited someone over to our house!! Don't get me wrong we have had people show up and eat with us or we have had the teens over but to actually invite? I am ashamed =( I didn't have anything big planned-in fact I was trying a new recipe for supper for us (sad to say it was real mac-n-cheese w/ velveeta) so I just made a little bigger of a batch (it turned out pretty good I thought). AND even though he was on duty P.J. got to stop in and have supper with us so David didn't have to deal with just us women =) It was alot of fun and I am glad that it was very much spur of the moment =) A good finish to a good day!

A new life

There have been a few upcoming events that I am looking forward to and have been thinking about them alot, trying to plan things out. David and I are getting more excited every day for our little girl to get here-this Friday we will only have 12 weeks left! I am getting closer and closer to the single digits! So crazy to think of it that way. In planning for the future one of my first thoughts is how old will Kaitlin be when we do to this or that?!? Well while still pregnant David and I are planning on going to a birthing class on March 13th *it is a Saturday which means we will have to miss visitation and it is all day =(* but we never got to do this with Keagen and I really would like to do it this time since alot of my memories have been erased from grief and emotional trauma. The second is my baby shower-the ladies in our church are so very good at taking care of Esther and I in whatever we need/want =) so I am looking forward to that! After Kaitlin is born then we will have the parking lot sale which leads into camp. I love going to camp and it is something I look forward to ALL year but when I think about camp this year I think of "How many clothes am I going to have to pack for the little girl?" It is cold in the mornings and evenings/nights so I will need to dress her in layers :0 It will be good to finally be able to take my own baby to camp though =) After camp I hope things settle down for a bit until August when we get to take a family vacation for my Grandparents 50th Anniversary!! All of the living desendents(sp?) of my grandparents will get to be there (all five grandkids w/ spouses and the two living great-grandkids) It will be awesome! Finally my parents won't have to fight over who gets to hold the granddaughter they will each get one and just have to decide when to switch! ;-) And then there are the many things going on with our church that are always exciting and fun! The whole point of this blog? I am looking forward to the new life with my wonderful hubby and beautiful daughter! =)

Grace and Mercy

I just went back and reread some of my blogs just from this year alone and without knowing it I have set a theme for myself for this year. Grace and Mercy. God gives us these two things new every day and I am thankful for it. We wouldn't be able to make it through each day without them. There are so many things that happen even in just one year that makes it easy to get worried and let the stress take over but what we really need is to turn it over to God and let Him take care of it. He is more than enough! So many times I want the approval of others when I really should be seeking His approval, it shouldn't make a difference what others think of me! This year I really want to focus on doing my best for HIM and not for others. Others will let you down, HE NEVER WILL! God was willing to send his Son to die on the cross for me and to bare my burdens and sins and even though I fail Him so many times he still gives me Grace and Mercy each day. I thank God for all that he has done in my life. I know it is not going to be easy-life never is but I have someone I can lean on and trust to take care of me and guide me through life's troubled seas. Thank God for His Grace and Mercy!
